Mix 1 |
| OVERALL
COMMENTS: |
Duality
exists in us all to some degree. The hardest part is admitting
to yourself that without embracing both sides, you are never
really complete. |

SONG
TITLE - ARTIST |
| Track
1: |
American
Witch - Rob Zombie
|
| COMMENTS: |
'Is
it my penchant for classic horror flicks? Why is it that I can
never get enough Zombie. What is the origin of this compulsion?
|
| TRACK
2: |
Nasty
- Janet Jackson
|
| COMMENTS: |
I'll
never understand how it came to pass that the total number of
girl friends that I've had over the course of my life that enjoy
heavy metal in the least = ZERO.
"Let's go line dancing!" they will say, or "let's
hit up a club downdown" more often than not makes me cringe
or start drinking heavily.
Janet's work in the 80s is one of the few things that I've found
effective in motivating me to, as those crazy kids are saying
these days, "bust a move". |

3: |
Walk
- Pantera
|
| COMMENTS: |
As
a sociological experiment, I like to play this on the jukebox
of bars of which I am unfamiliar or when the crowd looks super
random.
*It also kicks ass |
| TRACK
4: |
Wake
up, Little Suzie - The Everly Brothers
|
| COMMENTS: |
I never made curfew growing up. This song about a narcoleptic
sock- hopper of questionable moral fiber was my anthem. |
| TRACK
5: |
Party
til you puke - Andrew W.K.
|
| COMMENTS: |
Pre-game
song delux, arch nemesis of my liver |
| TRACK
6: |
Walkin'
after midnight - Patsy Cline
|
| COMMENTS: |
Always
a good choice when considering an extended period of daydreaming,
especially about romantic interludes that have a ridiculously
low chance of ever happening. |
| TRACK
7: |
Bloodtrocuted
- Dethklok
|
| COMMENTS: |
This
is the best band that Never existed.
How a fake metal band, that started out merely as a cartoon, managed
to produce a legitimate album is beyond me, but I'm not complaining. |
| TRACK
8: |
Head
over heels - Tears for Fears
|
| COMMENTS: |
I
see Donnie Darko ONCE... a year ago, and I can't get this damn
song out of my head. |
| TRACK
9: |
Out
on the Tiles - Led Zeppelin
|
| COMMENTS: |
If
I had a time machine, I'd travel back to the seventies and be
a Zeppelin groupie, no doubt.... My mom always told me that
it was good to have life goals. |
| TRACK
10: |
Low
down man - Squirrel Nut Zippers
|
| COMMENTS: |
A
great track to eat a half gallon of chocolate ice cream to. |
| TRACK
11: |
Lord
of this world - Black Sabbath
|
| COMMENTS: |
Ozzy..
pre-wrinkles and saggy flesh, strung out, on a bender.. ah the
gool ol' days. |
| TRACK
12: |
Present
Tense - Pearl Jam
|
| COMMENTS: |
"do
you see the way that tree bends?
does it inspire?
leaning out to catch the sun's rays
a lesson to be applied
you can spend your time alone, redigesting past regrets, oh
or you can come to terms and realize
you're the only one who can't forgive yourself, oh
makes much more sense to live in the present tense" |
| TRACK
13: |
Pour
some sugar on me - Def Leppard |
| COMMENTS: |
Every
girl needs a solid stripper song to fall back on... just in case
the 6 years of college doesn't pan out. |
| TRACK
14: |
For
whom the bell tolls - Metallica
|
| COMMENTS: |
Who
wouldn't want to hear the intro of this song whenever they went
up to bat at home games during their senior year of college softball???
* A product of their golden years....Prior to their disasterous
collective trip to the barber shop. |
| TRACK
15: |
Everyone's
a junkie - Our Lady Peace
|
| COMMENTS: |
"I'm
not asking for forgivness for the things that I don't know
I'm really not that different, you just made me think so"
*It would have been an injustice if my favorite band of all
time didn't make the abridged version of my mix. |
